Daisies Foundation: Houston-based organization surprises deserving moms in honor of Mother’s Day

HOUSTON – Mothers across the world will be recognized on Sunday as we come together to honor the love, kindness, and sacrifices that come with being a mother.

This year, one Houston-based organization is making sure two groups of mothers in particular are feeling the love this weekend.

The Daisie Foundation and popular eatery Raising Canes have partnered together to honor and surprise 300 deserving first responders’ moms of Harris Health Systems and moms of Santa Maria Hostel for Mother’s Day.

Additionally, Raising Canes provided lunch for the moms, and they were sent off with special gifts from Benefit Cosmetics, Kroger, Shiraleah, and Reliant, just in time for Mother’s Day.

KPRC 2′s Digital Reporter Moriah Ballard spoke to the Daisies Foundation’s Executive Board President Julie Hightower about the event and the lasting impact it has had on communities across the nation.
