Ask 2: “What is goal of roadwork on 288 southbound down to Lake Jackson? Timeline?”

Answer:

We reached out to the Texas Dept. of Transportation to learn more. Here is what we learned about the SH-288 bridge projects:

  • SH-288 at Rodeo Palms Blvd/Del Bello Blvd: Grade separation & New SB 2-lane frontage road expected to be completed in 2025.
  • SH-288 at Iowa Colony Blvd (CR 48): Grade separation is expected to be completed sometime between July and September.
  • SH-288 at Meridiana Pkwy (CR 56): Widening is expected to be completed towards the end of 2025.
  • SH-288 at Dobuque Pkwy (CR 63): Grade separation is expected to be completed in 2025.

Grade separation means officials are building bridges for SH-288 to go over the intersecting roadways. The idea is to improve mobility and enhance safety.
